Too many pounds.

It's 200 pounds lighter than the old one with more power. What's the problem?

200 lbs lighter than 3700 lbs is not a big deal, and still the problem.

FWIW, I think my BRZ weighs too much.

Your BRZ also doesn't have a 455 HP LT1.

The steering wheel is a bit weird looking but the interior looks 10x better then the old one.

No, but the SS will probably end up being over 4000 lbs still, so IDGAF.

Seeing as the current one is under 4,000 lbs, I doubt it.

It’s a muscle car, not a twinky little toy sports car.

3500 pounds is perfectly reasonable, especially with 455 horsepower

The current car, or the current SS? The current car starts at 3700 lbs, so I’m assuming that the V8, heftier drivetrain, and whatever other chassis bracing they add to cope with the power brings it to a little over 4000.

I love how Jalopnik commenters love to make shit up to crap on makes they don’t like.

The car is 200 pounds lighter because of the chassis. The Lt1 is a fairly compact motor (that small block...)

The SS should weigh less than 3700lbs. Is it heavy? I guess, but it’s a big muscle car. It’s not like it was ever going to be less than 3000 pounds. It’s lighter and more powerful than its direct competition, what’s to hate?

Maybe you should just hate on muscle cars, not the Camaro. Or anything that isn't 25 years old

I do hate on muscle cars. You’re right though. The BRZ is probably the newest car I’ll ever own. Cars are going in the wrong direction at the moment. Apart from supercars, I think that the late 80s and early 90s were really the peak of cars from a driving perspective. Visibility keeps going down, the connection you feel to the road keeps decreasing, and weight keeps going up. I’m not crapping on a make I don’t like, I’m crapping on a car and concept that I don’t like. If there’s any make that I can say that I just in general dislike, it would be Chrysler/Dodge. Even with them, there are two cars that they’ve made over the years that I like. I hate brand loyalty. I think a good car is a good car. I don’t think that a full sized family car with reduced functionality is a good car.

I like the current Camaro, and this exterior seems like a nice evolution. I suspect it looks far better in person than in picture

Yamahog’s photoset had a two-tone orange and black one that looked pretty nice.

The issue for me is it still looks like the car they came out with in 2009, just toned down a couple of times since then. I wasn’t a fan of the facelift a few years back either.

EDIT- apparently that was still a 5th gen. I really can’t tell them apart.

Joy for me isn’t just putting your foot down and letting the car do the work. I like handling.

The interior is awesome. The front is awesome, the profile is awesome, just about everything is awesome.

However, the rear just doesn’t do it for me. I bulges just screw up everything. I dunno, maybe I’ll come around to it.

I forgot that there is one other car that I might be interested in that’s coming out, but there’s nothing official on whether it’s coming to the US or not - The Honda S660.

Your argument, sir, is retarded. No matter what you drive, the car is doing the work. You can pretend it’s all you all you want but you’re not the one sprinting around some cones at 50mph. Humans just don’t work that way.

And it's fun because HOLY FUCK HAVE YOU EVER EVEN DRIVEN A MUSCLE CAR?!

Kinja'd!!! SidewaysOnDirt still misses Bowie > Your boy, BJR

Kinja'd!!!0

Planting you right foot down and managing traction through the twisties are entirely different things. I’m working the car more at the track than someone in a Hellcat does at a drag strip. Yes, I’ve driven plenty of muscle cars. They’re all boring, though I like old ones more than new ones (because weight). Just like burnouts and donuts, just putting your foot down gets old. Power doesn’t interest me all that much. Power’s just a number. It’s about the whole package. There’s no skill in going fast with hundreds of horsepower, and it’s accessible to everyone. I get that some people dig that, but I don’t and have no interest in it. It’s just a dick measuring contest. I want something nimble.
